the simpledoubledeux bed by daniel jauslin is an excellent example of simple thinking to solve a problem. from desigboom:
'architect daniel jauslin designed the 'simpledoubledeux' bed with space in mind. the bed is made from molded plywood and consists of two interlocking platforms, so it can be used as a single or double bed. it is also light in weight, so it can be moved by one person. the bed was originally designed as a prototype for a house drexler guinand jauslin architects worked on in switzerland. after some media coverage and public interest they decided to put into production. the 'simpledoubledeux' bed won the top i.d magazine's furniture award.'
why did no-one think of this before??
