i was in the v&a last week, and (as i usually do) saw a few interesting things in their shop. both are new ways of looking at house chores and making them look a lot more fun. the first was the 'dish bunny' (above and below), which i thought was a nice and clever little adaptation to the conventional dishrack. at £20 it isn't cheap, but certainly looks more interesting than a normal one! from the v&a website:
Washing up suddenly becomes a lot more fun when you have the Dish Bunny at your disposal. Designed by Chris Koens, the eponymous bunny is incorporated in the wire frame of the drying rack itself. Horribly cute and practical too, lean larger dishes up against the ears to stop them toppling. Measures 48L x 33W x 19H cm
the other things i saw that caught my eye were the blackbird pegs by banal extra (below). another simple, witty design, but still quite expensive at £7 for a set of 10. from the v&a website:
Ten charming blackbirds ready to perch on your washing line and peg your laundry up in style.
