these libratone wireless speakers use patent-pending 'fullroom' sound. whereas regular closed-cabinet speakers push sound out of the front, the libratone speakers spread it in all directions. they explain:
(they) play like acoustic instruments, dispersing sound waves in multiple directions, reflecting them off the walls. This eliminates the sweet spot and gives you a 360° sound experience. To get a bit more technical, inside the cabinets there are five units each driven by dedicated audiophile amplifiers and each dedicated to spreading sound in a specific direction. This setup means that the system both spreads the sound and encapsulates you in it.
there are a two different models: the 'lounge' (above), designed to go on a shelf or under a tv and the 'beat' (below), designed to be go wherever you go, with it's handle on the back. both come in a nice selection of colours, the outer material being either wool or cashmere.
available from a range of stockists, the 'beat' costs around £500, and the 'lounge' from £1000.
