freitag f85 review

having previously posted about freitag's great looking f60 joan bag, as well as their neat little alan wallets, i was lucky enough to get a look at their latest offering: the f85 laptop sleeve.

as with all of their products, the f85 is made of recycled tarpaulin, so every one is unique. if you haven't heard of freitag before, then head over to their site to find out a little more about "one of the last industrial companies still in production in the city of zurich".

measuring 240 x 340 x 20mm, it is designed to fit a 13" macbook air but holds similarly sized laptops too. there is also a smaller version for 11" macbook air's available, the f84. as the outside is made of tarpaulin, it is tough, waterproof but still flexible. the inner lining is made from neoprene, providing padding for the laptop inside. the industrial stitching makes it feel like a real quality product.

as well as the velcro to keep it closed, there is also a manila-packet-style string enclosure to keep it really secure (see the video below). like the majority of freitag's products, the design is very simple and functional, and this is what is nicest about it. the colour options are endless and it's always nice to know that the colour you have will be unique.

the f85 and f84 are available from freitag for €80 and €85 respectively, and are exclusively available from london graphic center in the uk
